Steve Olander first dreamt of being a filmaker at the age of 13. Meeting his wife early in life, and starting a family right away, caused him to postpone this pursuit until his children were grown. However, his whole life was spent researching filmmaking.
Finally, in 2006 he purchased his first video camera to begin putting what he learned into practice. After creating a few videos for contests he was noticed by Ghost Walk Studios who recruited him to be their Director. The film they made, "The Farm," was a 45 minute short horror film which instantly won "Best Horror Short" at the 2012 Indie Gathering International Film Festival. Steve directed, shot, and edited the film. Since then it has been an Official Selection in 16 film festivals in 3 countries. It has also received a number of nominations including Best Horror Film, Best Sound Design, and more.
Steve currently is working on his own Documentary, "Hate No More," and freelancing on the film adapatation of a novel by  New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Maggie Shayne titled "Embrace the Twilight," with Vampire2films Productions and Ghost Walk Studios.

Northcoast Studios, ltd was created by Steve in 2016 after 10 years of building a filmmaking career. With a short film, two feature films, and two documentaries of experience, in numerous roles, he created Northcoast Studios to go into his own direction, creatiing his own films, and to provide his services to others.
Northcoast Studios currently has 2 feature film screenplays written to be created, and a documentary in post-production about a man who was formerly a white supremicist, but now he is not. His story is absolutely amazing, encompassing how his abusive, racist father instilled the mindset into him, and his unfortunate life experiences which seemed to reinforce the disease his father was injecting into his mind. How he realized that people of all races are just like him is eye opening! Forget everything you thought about how these people become this way as "Brian" tells you his story.
Northcoast Studios has a number of additional projects in the works, as well as providing freelance services to other Production companies.
We look forward to working with you and making your production more than what you thought it could be. Thank you for considering us!!
